It's the summer of..
.. the good old times?
And sure, it's gonna be a wild wild summer with girls in bikini's and guys all buff and tough.
Honestly, I couldn't care less about the guys being something that they are not.. but what I do know is that when a catchy tune comes by, it sticks like a drunken hobo that wants a euro for a place to sleep (while it's 25 degrees (Celsius mind you) outside). He just won't take no for an answer.
HH's - Rock it '02 (Qbert special)
I am no fan of Will Smith.. but I am a fan of a laid back fun stuff with a smile. Don't blame me for not having a sophisticated sense of "this is commercial stuff, and thus bad".
Follow up:
The discussion about what good festival music is.. it is an all inspiring and fun way to spend your time. Let me show you an example of an conversation I had a while back:
"But seriously, if you would let Eric Clapton play "Because we ended as lovers" it would sound totally different!" said my worthy adversary.
True, I couldn't deny that. I take a sip of my coffee while I work thru my personal Rolodex of images and names in head, most likely looking like an evil scientist working on a scheme to take over the world! *insert evil laughter here*
"I won't deny that. But, could BB King work the guitar as Jeff Beck did with the same emotion? Or must we say that Tal Wilkenfeld is the best for a crossover from rock to jazz?"
"Tal who?" he said.
"Wilkenfeld, here let me show you".
We both enjoy the tune, but I notice he is working on a 'counter attack'. But what could top Tal Wilkenfeld? Marcus Miller? That would be low. .. too obvious. And I like the obvious.. as long as it is me who states it.
I could go on, but by the time we were passed Average White Band, Don Diablo, Maria Mena, Kane, Krezip, Moloko and The Opposites the alcohol started to take over the conversation. What we had was the almost perfect lineup for a new festival. We had a dream.. and we still have that dream.
Dreaming.
